Adrian Tenney, Los Angeles, California
Don't Worry
Adrian grew up in Toronto, Canada then moved to Los Angeles with her family when she was 15. Her parents played contemporary classical piano music when she was little. They forced her to study piano, but she hated practicing. She then decided that music should always be enjoyable and never be hard work; this is why she cannot read musical notation.
As much as she regrets quitting piano lessons, she works hard at making music an everyday part of her life, sometimes even 2 or 3 times a day. She went to ("fine") art-school, but spent more time in the balinese gamelan room (you-tube that!). Adrian spends all her free time cultivating cactus (and other succulent) plants and drawing comics ("Bite the Cactus" can be found in current issues of Razorcake magazine).
This summer she got a ridiculous job and was able to save up enough money to buy her own DRUM SET! She likes to have shows at her house (usually loud, fast, dance-able or shove-able music), so if you're in L.A . on a weekend, and want to play a house show, let her know (she'll let you use her drums).
